About Shyampur Siddheswari Mahavidyalaya

The college was founded way back in 1964 in Shyampur village of Howrah district some 75 kms away from Kolkata in the close vicinity of Gadiara – a well known tourist spot of southern West Bengal. The genesis of the college was modest, as it offered general stream courses in humanities; science and commerce, but consolidating on the foundation of vision for growth, the curriculum bouquet soon started enriching itself to impart honours curriculum in many of the subjects and today the college has 21 departments of which 14 departments impart honours curriculum.
